Jeff and Hillary Key are native South Carolinians transplanted to suburban Atlanta in 1997. They were blessed with their first son, Bennett, in January of 2000, and their daughter, Lacey, in January of 2013. (No, that is not a type-o.)

Both Bennett and Lacey were born with a rare genetic condition called Joubert Syndrome, which causes a whole lot of…well, stuff. You can read more about it here if you dare. We’ll wait.

OK, welcome back. Now realize something it took us a while to realize – don’t read about medical conditions on websites! While Bennett’s and Lacey’s condition might take away some of their physical abilities, it cannot touch their hearts, their personalities or their spirits.
